Would you like a career as a fashion stylist, fashion editor, fashion journalist, makeup artist, image consultant or creative director?

The Certificate III in Styling course offers students intensive training in the fashion styling industry to give students the skills to work in a career that is creative, diverse and exciting. This course is for anyone who is interested in a career in makeup, fashion styling for magazines, fashion editing, make-over styling/image consulting.

The course covers working in editorial, catwalk, commercial and image styling, plus advanced cinemagraphic, theatre and special effects make-up techniques and styling for bridal, photography and film & TV.

The Certificate III in Styling students will have the opportunity to work with our full time fashion design students, working backstage at fashion parades, assisting them with creating photographic looks for their ranges etc, which will in turn provide the advanced make-up & styling students with great photos for inclusion in their portfolio, and a invaluable experience that can be noted on their resume.

AIMS courses are taught by trainers who have vast experience within the styling industry. This gives our students the ability to gain valuable insights from trainers with real industry experience and benefit from their experiences, knowledge and industry contacts.

Students will work on clients, giving styling advice, planning and preparing photoshoots and be involved in fashion parades and events. This unique program will put you at the cutting edge this rapidly expanding industry and give students the ability to work in a more diverse range of specialist fields.

During the course students will work on major photoshoot projects to develop for their portfolio, as well as working on smaller projects with clients and other students.

Students will also work on developing a fashion magazine, of which they will source items, work on the photoshoots, help plan the layout and write content for. This is a unique opportunity that will give students not only invaluable experience but also give students 'tear sheets' to include in their portfolio.

A career in styling can also lead to other related fields such as: fashion designer, visual merchandising, interior decorator, events management, wedding planning, costume designer, film/stage set designer and more.

It is also possible to complete this course alongside the Diploma of Fashion & Textiles Merchandising course for those who are interested in fashion business, fashion buying and merchandising.
