Fashion stylists do everything from helping clients improve their image, producing ideas for photoshoots, select clothing & accessories for events, filming and for photography, work for fashion magazines and more. Fashion stylists generally work freelance, although stylists can be employed by publishing companies, model agencies, advertising companies, events management companies, fashion labels, shopping centres or retail stores.
The Australian Institute of Makeup & Styling offers professional training in styling to give students the skills to get started in this quickly expanding industry.
All the AIMS trainers have extensive experience in styling and continue to work as stylists, image consultants and makeup artists in the industry. This gives our students the ability to gain valuable insights from trainers with real industry experience and benefit from their experiences, knowledge and industry contacts.
Throughout the year students will work on clients, giving styling advice, planning and preparing photoshoots
and be involved in fashion parades and events. This unique program will put you at the cutting edge this rapidly expanding industry and give students the ability to work in a more diverse range of specialist fields.
Through practical tasks and assignments, students will learn how to deal with clients, plan and put together looks for photoshoots, create makeup looks and hair styles, write articles for the media and much more.
Once you have graduated from the course, we will act as your agency, developing an online profile on our website promoting your services to clients and we will continue to forward you opportunities for work or further experience even after the course has finished.
